We are working with communities across Kirklees to ensure as many of those affected as possible can access the scheme, which has to be done online, and obtain the status they are fully entitled to.
However, due to the pandemic we are finding it difficult to reach people who are perhaps the most in need – the retired, or the elderly, those who lack capacity or the ability to go online. In many cases, these are the ones who need the scheme the most and it is vital that they can continue to access the services and support they need, without interruption.
When is the deadline?
The deadline for applications to the EUSS is 30 June 2021, now less than six months away – it’s imperative to act now!
Who should apply?
EU citizens, along with those from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland should apply, along with their family members. The scheme also includes people outside the EU who have a partner or spouse that is an EU citizen and their children – they too need to know about the scheme so they can apply in their own right for settled status to stay in the UK.
Apply to the EU Settlement Scheme on the Government website.
