Councillor Naheed Mather
Board Chair
Naheed began her career in local government as a personnel officer before moving into higher education as a principle lecturer at Bradford and Huddersfield University, and member of the National Executive Committee of the University and College Union (UCU).
She has over 25 years of local government and higher education experience, and has been very active in the community and voluntary sectors; across housing, education, and trade unions. Naheed is a former magistrate and currently serves as a member of the Employment Tribunal Service.
She also has a wealth of experience in leading on, initiating and policy development, gained both as a Cabinet member and former chair and member of numerous boards and organisations, including a housing association.
Naheed’s key priority as chair of KNH would be to ensure the fulfilment of our commitment to keep our tenants at the heart of decision making; to use our land to deliver 31,000 houses over 15 years with an adequate supply of affordable and extra care homes throughout the district.
