Our board is ultimately responsible for delivering our vision of improving people’s lives by providing quality homes in successful communities.

It is made up of tenants and councillors from across Kirklees who work with us to make decisions on how we deliver our services to tenants.

Our board is responsible for setting strategies and policies and have a range of skills, experience and qualities required to make decisions and monitor our performance.

Councillor Naheed Mather

Naheed began her career in local government as a personnel officer before moving into higher education as a principle lecturer at Bradford and Huddersfield University, and member of the National Executive Committee of the University and College Union (UCU).

She has over 25 years of local government and higher education experience, and has been very active in the community and voluntary sectors; across housing, education, and trade unions. Naheed is a former magistrate and currently serves as a member of the Employment Tribunal Service.

She also has a wealth of experience in leading on, initiating and policy development, gained both as a Cabinet member and former chair and member of numerous boards and organisations, including a housing association.

Naheed’s key priority as chair of KNH would be to ensure the fulfilment of our commitment to keep our tenants at the heart of decision making; to use our land to deliver 31,000 houses over 15 years with an adequate supply of affordable and extra care homes throughout the district.

Aysha Mansaf

Aysha has been a member of the Board since May 2017. She is a qualified teaching assistant and has been self-employed for some time. She has been a KNH tenant since 2015 and has been volunteering in the community where she lives since 2011.

Aysha was a former treasurer at the Parent’s Forum at the Rawthorpe and Dalton Children’s Centre for 4 years. She spends most of her time looking after her two little girls but she also enjoys gardening, politics and helping and looking out for her neighbours.

Emma is the newest tenant member of the Board. She is a well-known face on the Wilton Estate in Batley where she grew up and has lived all her life. She is currently a secretary at her local community centre and is keen to make sure that tenants have a voice and have a say in what happens. She is also passionate about improving housing and services for all tenants across Kirklees.

Eamonn has been with Kirklees Council since joining in 1990 through the graduate accounting trainee programme and is now an integral member of the Council’s Senior Leadership Team.

During his time at Kirklees, Eamonn has supported KNH on many key developments bringing an enthusiasm for tenant engagement.

As well as a Board Director for Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing, Eamonn is also a Board Director for a local social enterprise based in the Ashbrow ward in Huddersfield.

Paul has lived in Kirklees since 1985 and is ‘early’ retired having spent most of his career in local government as a Chartered Surveyor. He brings wide experience in property management and development after working on large-scale economic regeneration programmes.

He has been a Meltham Town Councillor since 2011 and Chair of local school governors, and he spends much of his ‘retirement’ caring for his youngest son who has complex special needs.

Paul is a member of the Main Board, the Audit Committee, the Delivery Committee and the Strategy Committee

Andrew has lived and worked in the Colne Valley for most of his life. He was elected to Kirklees Council to represent the Golcar Ward for the first time in 2004 and continues to do so.

Having served as Kirklees Cabinet Member with responsibility for housing and member of the West Yorkshire Housing Partnership, Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. He is a former Chair of the Kirklees Safer Stronger Communities Partnership.

Cllr Andrew C G Marchington is a member of the Main Board, the Audit Committee and the Strategy Committee.

Carole has always had an interest in housing, with a 40-year career in the sector across various organisations serving many roles and positions at all levels.

As an elected member of Kirklees Council and Cabinet member with responsibility for Learning, Aspiration and Communities. She is passionate about housing and sees good housing as being fundamental in providing tenants with good life opportunities.

Carole is the vice-chair of our Board and a member of the Property sub-committee and will be taking a special interest in the work of the Property Directorate and Committee.
